Application procedures

Applying for SKS Kosher Certification is simple. Follow these steps with our full professional guidance and support along the way:

1. Fill the form

Complete and send your application back to the SKS office. You may do this online by filling out our application form opposite and returning it by fax or by email. The application asks for logistical information about your company and you plant, as well as a list of the products you want certified, and their ingredients.

2. Assign a rabbi

A Rabbi will be assigned to handle your application. This Rabbi will be your designated point person at the SKS, and will be available to answer your questions, address your needs and guide you through the certification process.

3. Plant inspection

A qualified Rabbi will visit your plant to observe your operation and the feasibility of certifying your products. (There is a processing fee and a travel expense fee that is billed prior to this inspection.) The Rabbi will tour your plant and file a written report to SKS headquarters.

4. Inspection review

Your application and inspection report will be reviewed by A Rabbi who will advise you whether or not the SKS can grant certification. In some instances, some system modifications may be required for certification to be awarded.

5. The contract

SKS will draft a contract which includes all of requirements of the SKS for kosher certification. If acceptable to you the contract is signed and returned to the SKS office, and a letter of certification is sent to you.

6. Submission of labels

You may then submit your new product labels carrying the SKS symbol for our final approval. CONGRATULATIONS! You have now joined a family of companies which proudly carry the world’s  most trusted, efficient and widely known kosher trademark, the SKS.
